Aerosmith drummer writes book

London, July 1 Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer has written a book about his struggles with drug abuse and his band mate Steven Tyler.

Kramer spent the past four years working on the book with writers William Patrick and Keith Garde, contactmusic.com reports. The book is titled "Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top" and recalls the highs and lows of his life.

The book will feature a foreword by Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx and elucidates the difficulties that can arise by being part of a hard-living rock band. Kramer is hoping that it will help those who are themselves struggling with addictions and psychological problems.

Kramer said: "When I was trying to tell him (lead singer Steven Tyler) about some of the stuff that was in the book, his comment was... 'Hey, man, as long as it's the truth, I don't care.'"
